It is with sadness that I pass the following information on.

It is with deep sadness that I must report that Voyageur Archie Dishman reported to Voiture Everlasting on 14 June 2008. Archie was a Chef de Gare Passe of Voiture Locale 977 and a 23 year member of the Forty and Eight. His funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on 17 June 2008 at Farrah Funeral Home in South Hill, VA. The family will receive friends and visitors at The American Legion Post 79 in South Hill following the services. You may send cards of condolence to The Dishman Family at 623 Mecklenburg Ave. South Hill, VA 23970.

It is with great sadness that I pass along that Vgr Rex Steeves, Past Chef de Gare ov 976 reported to the Supreme Commander on Memorial Day May 26.  Rex was the Vgr who done the Flags for First Graders for our Locale with over 32 schools visited in Newport News every year.  Rex's was also a Department Vice Commander and long time Adjutant of Post 25. His arbitrary will be in the Saturday paper (Daily Press) with viewing from 3 to 5 PM on Sunday, 1 June 2008 at Parklawn Wood funeral home.  Services will be Monday at 1:30 at Parklawn Funeral Home, ( 2551 N Armistead, corner of Armistead and Hampton Parkway) Hampton, VA. Burial with military honors will be at Hampton Memorial Gardens The family has asked Post 25 to host everyone for snacks at the Post following the services.  Please come by if you can and extend your condolences.

    Regret to inform of the passing of Voyager Paul William Mitchell Jr. (Post 114) on May 22.  Services will be held on Thursday, May 29. from 1900 to 2100 hours at the First Baptist Church, 9258 Center Street, Manassas, VA.  Service: Noon Friday, May 30, also at the First Baptist Church with Burial at the Rose Hill Cemetery on Centerville Road (local).

    Assume we will have a service at the Friday evening Prom.  Jim Wright has been notified and will be attending the viewing and service. Bob Brady is sending out notice on the internet for the 16th District. Any question please call me at 703-368-2062.
